Located in prime Teynampet, this was a place I just stumbled into one fine afternoon when I was absolutely famished and had no food at home to go to. I had heard of this place a lot from friends but always thought that it was a date night or a girls brunch kind of place. The whole restaurant is built around a tree trunk and the appearance of it gives out a sort of magical feel.
I did not waste time in ordering some food. I got myself a Chicken Stroganoff Mac N Cheese along with a virgin mojito. They had some good music going on and quite the number of tables filled up. Yet it wasn’t as loud or noisy as I thought it would be. One can get a variety of coffee drinks as well and spend a decent time there. They do have some outdoor seating available. So one does not have to worry about blocking a whole table for a while.
The Mac N Cheese was creamy and the sauce was rich while the Stroganoff chicken was well spiced and finished off with just the right amount of cream. Did I tell you that they do not provide straws at all for their drinks? They are doing something to contribute and that feels nice. I have also tried their pasta dishes other times and I have to say that I simply love them all. The prices are on the slightly higher side but the ambience and prompt service justifies it all.
I am still hoping to try out more of their dishes including their starters as well!
On my way out I spotted the bakery and bought some pastries to try later. Their eclairs are pretty neat if I have to say so.
Cafe De Paris is a small but quaint place to have a nice hot meal as well as to enjoy some special time with special people.
