This is no movie review. Nope!
I cannot possibly be a genius enough to understand this beautiful movie named “V for Vendetta”
What is so beautiful about it? Yes! You can go ahead and ask me that. I am writing this post right after watching the movie for the nth time and it is about 5 AM now.
When a simple media is making me sit up and pour out my thoughts after watching it, then yes! I would call it a powerful movie. I saw The Dark Knight Rises and then thought, “Hey it has been a while since I saw V!” So I sat up through the sleepless night and watched the movie.
It amazes me in a new way every single time I watch it. One time I am amazed at the choice of words used. One time I am amazed at the screenplay. One time I am amazed at Natalie Portman’s acting. One time I am amazed at the stunts (I am particularly a fan of the knife fight sorts) One time I am amazed at the letter by Valerie. One time I am amazed by the background music.
And so on…
You cannot simply like all of it at once. You just cannot do that. That is undoubtedly impossible if you ask me.
I suggest this picture every time someone asks me for movie suggestions. This is always the first name in my list.
And I know that I will always be talking about it to any person I find no matter what. I just love talking about it. Talking about V!
Recently colleague of mine watched it (under my suggestion) and loved it. He said “It was like a beautiful poetry!” That sort of stuck to me. Why didn’t I see that? It is a sort of poem! I never saw it from that perspective. Not once in all those times I have seen it. So I had to watch it again.
Each and every scene unfolding. Each and every dialogue uttered….
Of course you can. I’m not questioning your powers of observation I’m merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is
Words have always had a great impact on me. And maybe that is why this picture moves me so much. Especially the autobiography of Valerie! It affects me so much that I end up crying along with Evey by the time she finishes reading it.
My most favourite line:
Even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you. I love you. With all my heart, I love you.
Well I should also probably quote this one as well. The most powerful line from that character.
For three years I had roses, and apologized to no one.
I wish to love such a life. I mean that single line gives out her entire life. An ideal life we all should lead. Not that I am asking you to grow scarlet carsons in your window box. But have a person who would grow something for you. Have that kind of love in your life. And give out the same kind of love to others.
I once made a small picture for a junior of mine who loved this movie as much as I did. It took a long time. But it was nice.
*chuckles*
That moment when Evey kisses V over his mask! Oh god! What more can I ask from that character? What more emotion can that guy give from underneath his mask?
And finally I would like to say that this will always be my most favourite film of all times. No matter how many other movies I watch, I adore or fall in love with, this will always be on the top of my list!
“Remember remember the 5th of November”
I should start making it a ritual to watch this movie on November the 5th!
